Care On Call was founded in 2003 to provide personalized, affordable, and compassionate in-home care to seniors and persons with disabilities.
Our Founder
Care On-Call was founded by Soledad Manaay, a former director of a 130-bed Assisted Living Facility located in Menlo Park, CA. A lifelong advocate for seniors, she organized Care On-Call as a direct care provider to preserve a better quality of life for seniors and persons with disabilities.
Inspiration for Care On Call
Soledad drew inspiration for Care On-Call from her mother, Angelina. who died at the age of 83 from complications relating to diabetes and dementia. Having witnessed firsthand the difficulties faced by aging persons, Soledad has dedicated Care On Call as a tribute to her mother.

ìI was not there to take care of my mother myself. Thankfully, her caregivers did a great job alleviating any suffering she might have felt at the end. This experience made me think of the many individuals who are in the same boat as I was when my mother was still alive. Being torn between caring for an elderly parent and your own family and career, especially if youíre separated by a great distance, is a heartbreaking dilemma. Knowing that your loved one is cared for by someone you can trust, someone who is competent and caring is a big help. I truly want to make a difference in our elderly populationís lives. I thought that since it could very well be their last few years or for some, last few months of their lives, they deserve no less than a dignified lifestyle.î

Our Caregivers
We look for people with a heart to serve the elderly. Our caregivers are selected on the basis of their experience and their compassionate attitude toward those they care for. Our screening process is thorough, and we disqualify any applicant who has a history of undesirable behavior, criminal acts, or substance abuse. Our caregivers receive a great deal of initial and ongoing training and are carefully supervised for quality assurance. Many of our caregivers have been nurses, and most are former employees of assisted living facilities. All are experienced and trained above and beyond industry standards. Our Caregivers are trained to understand the rights of the elderly and legislation affecting the elderly and persons with disabilities. They are required to have a command of the English language. They are given additional training in how to communicate with stroke victims, the hard of hearing, those with poor eyesight, and those dealing with memory loss.

We consider our caregivers part of our extended family and strongly support them in the intricate tasks of caring for seniors. Caregivers are the key ingredients in our success as a business, so we give them our support and appreciation.
Care On Call recognizes that family members carry a tremendous burden in caring for their loved ones. We provide the support they need, not only to care for their loved ones, but also to enable them to live a more normal life while caring for a loved one.
We are grateful for the trust of the community we serve and like to give back through our volunteer works at senior community centers and through our other philanthropic efforts. We participate and contribute to the Alzheimerís Associationís Memory Walks program.
